Everything You Need To Know About Powder Puff

It’s a breezy October day shortly after homecoming with everyone from freshmen to seniors still hyped up. Friday nights of football are still approaching, sweaty teenage boys up and down the home field. After hours will consist of teenage girls running up and down the same field... Powder Puff.

Girls will be playing football and having boy football players teach them. It’s not meant to be a physical, pushing, and pounding sport. Like real football, touchdowns count as 6 points. Powder Puff players will learn flag use, skill, and how to increase their speed. Tackling, running, and carrying the ball. Practices will start around the second week of october, following homecoming. Starts with sign up sheets at tables during the lunch periods. Cheerleaders can participate in Powder puff , along with having to cheer at boys football games.

The fit would be sporting shorts, shirts, and or sporting wear. Flags must be worn. This will be happening at Marysville High school. Seniors will play against freshmen, and sophomores will play against juniors. Powder Puff is indeed a competitive sport, although it’s an opportunity for anyone and everyone to make the team, nobody gets cut. Some might say that takes the stress away, helps the athletes be more confident. No, us Powder Puff players don’t have jerseys, padding, and the ability to tackle, but we sure do play the game.
