Stress

Fall time, high school is settling on the freshman, exams are creeping up, as Halloween is too. Stress is something high schoolers experience all the time, although it is not limited to them, everyone experiences it. High schoolers deal with homework, drama, lack of hours of sleep, feelings, and busy lives. High schoolers are a main focus because we have a lot on our plate, we are becoming independent now. Stress is something hard to cope with, I myself find it difficult. We stress about a lot of things out of our control, if it’s out of your control then you can let go, and forget about it. As singer Jessie J portrays “It’s okay not to be okay,” . Accept we are stressing, and that it’s okay to stress is key. School is a big part of why we stress, We lose our self in trying to be the best at everything. Stress in teens starts at trying to fit in, impress, and please everyone in our lives. We all are a little “Unsteady,” (X Ambassadors). Everyone handles stress in a different way, I handle it by listening to music. The best way to handle and or cope with stress without completely going out of your way, would be talking about it. Talk to a friend, family member, or even a teacher/guidance counselor. Stress is something you can cope with, and handle, but it’s something that just won’t go away. Reading, running, You will always deal with stress, it’ll forever be around. Although everyone’s coping methods will be different I myself am stressing while writing this article on stress. Finding a way to cope with it would be best. Homework is a big reason high schoolers stress we spend 8 hours at school just to go home and have hours of homework, the high school provides a “ Monarch period” a forty minute period to take a breather and or catch up on work. That’s on tuesdays , and Thursdays. We have extracurricular activities and jobs to attend after school. We work, practice, play sports, and along with the homework kills the few hours we have before we have to do it all over again. It’s important to learn to cope with stress or even any kind of pressure because stress is something you will forever have to deal with, you can’t brush it off like it won’t come back. If we don’t learn how to cope with it , it will only get worse.
