Who likes mythology or horror stories? Stephen King writes mythical and horror stories. The ‘It’ movie is really popular and that was based on the book with the same name also by Stephen King.A sophomore in High School, Rachel Collins said ,“If you haven't read any of his books before you should start with Eyes of The Dragon”. The book Stephen King wrote for his daughter. It’s about a king who dies and his son and heir gets framed and has to fight his usurper brother and an evil wizard for the throne. He also writes horror stories like his book called The Shining. The Shining is about Jack Torrence moving into Overlook hotel with his family, his wife and son hoping to beat his writer’s block. His son has psychic premonitions and when they start getting worse they find dark secrets in the hotel.
He write a book he wrote called Misery. It’s about a guy who gets kidnapped by his number one fan and is forced to re-write one of his books or write a sequal to fix what he ‘did wrong’ with the book. There is a book with four of his stories that the seniors are reading too called Different Seasons. He also wrote a book called Insomnia. The book is about how a guy has trouble sleeping after losing his wife and starts is seeing things.
Rick Riordan wrote some books that some would probably like if you like stories about Greek, Roman, Norse and Egyptian myths or just like books with action in it. He has three series about greek mythology. The Percy Jackson Series. It’s about Percy finding out who his dad is and fighting the Titans. Then there is the second series, The Heroes of Olympus, with is about the same people with some extra characters defeating Gaea. It has a bit of everyone's views. There is also the series about Apollo being stuck on earth. Its called Apollos trials and is about him trying to find his way back to olympus. He also has a series based on egyptian mythology about a brother and sister who finds out their demigods called the Kane Chronicles. There is also one about a boy named Magnus who dies and then finds out he is the son of a Norse god, Magnus Chase and the Norse Gods. In all the stories the main characters are demigods, half human half god.
If you like romance novels there is bestselling author Nora Roberts’ books. She has around 213 romance books. You could read the story Sea Swept. That book is about Cameron Quinn, a boat racer, who had to move in with his parents and help them take care of a kid named Seth and meets the caretaker who decides Seth’s fate. You could also read Homeport. Homeport is about a doctor, Miranda Jones, who gets her tires slashed and her bag stolen and ends up going to Italy to verify authenticity of an item. When she almost breaks it she has to get help from a thief named Ryan Boldri. Nora Roberts also has a book called The Search that you could try to read. The story of the book is about a woman named Fiona with three dogs who almost died and had her husband die. Simon came barreling up her drive way asking for help to train his puppy and she also has a copycat murder trying to kill her for his master. If you like adventures I bet you would like to read one of these books.
